Golf Tournaments

Enjoy a day of golf with a purpose! Your entry fee and optional sponsorship contributions will make a vast difference in the lives of Lake County school children and the teachers who engage and inspire them. Thanks to the continuing efforts of the Educational Foundation, Scott and Steven Strong and their associates, colleagues, family and friends, the tournament has raised well over a million dollars for education in our community.

This year's Scott Strong Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Harbor Hills Country Club.

The tournament hosted by the Educational Foundation was started by Scott Strong in 2004 and has raised over $800,000 for the students and teachers in Lake County. Funds from this tournament are used to award Scott Strong Memorial Scholarships and 136 awards have been made since 2010. Funds also are matched with state matching dollars and used to award Grants for Great Ideas and purchase supplies for Apple-Mart, where our teachers shop for free.

The Scott A. Strong Memorial Scholarship Fund was founded on the belief that the community benefits by helping civic-minded young adults fulfill their educational goals. By enabling them to be a productive force, they can in turn promote the betterment of society.

Scott and Steven Strong's company, Electric Services, Inc., has committed financial contributions, fundraising efforts and employee manpower to myriad causes supporting local education. The company contributed the $25,000 seed money to launch the Scott A. Strong Memorial Scholarship Fund.

For 5 years, Scott chaired the annual Educational Foundation Golf Tournament. He personally raised over $250,000, and was instrumental in fundraising more than $600,000. His direct participation in the 2009 event helped raise more than $75,000 toward Grants for Great Ideas, Apple-Mart and Back-to-School Fairs in Lake County. Electric Services, Inc. was a "Teacher Sponsor" for this event.
